Update 1.26.2019

After spending some days sending emails to different people about the petition, I’m now writing an Op-ed. António Guterres’s yesterday speech was interesting as it emphasized on the fact that as the global problems are becoming more and more complex, it’s impossible for governments (currently in the power war in the transition period to a new order) to solve problems on their own. As problems become more complex and more global, more decentralized problem-solving mechanism is needed. In other words, we need less control and more inclusion. In such an interconnected world we live in, governments’ capabilities are extremely limited and they can no longer be the only actors to solve problems. And so developing mechanisms for social inclusion is critical. The 21st century doesn’t need passive people who are being represented on everything.
